The Sugar Hill Golf Association held their Net Championship tournament this past Saturday with 51 players competing! It was a beautiful day (finally, no rain) and the players had a great time 😊
They sat down to a taco bar at the close of the tournament. The number of players who are participating is increasing every month and that is very encouraging. Please sign up for next months “2 Man Stableford” that will be held on Saturday, May 11th. Hopefully, it will be another beautiful sunshiny day 😊

The 3 Club Monty was held on Saturday, March 16th. It was a beautiful day and there were 43 players using only 3 clubs to compete for the win! The guys were served BBQ and macaroni & cheese at the close of the tournament. The 3 Club is always a lot of fun, with some interesting scores

The Sugar Hill Golf Association held their 2 Man Stapleford tournament on Saturday, September 17th. There were 25 players participating in this tournament. The weather could not have been nicer!
The guys were served hamburgers at the close of the tournament, grilled by our very own Debbie Purvis 😊 She loves to feed you guys 😊.

The Bill Elinburg Cup (Formerly known as the Sugar Hill Cup) was held October 16th and 17th. This tournament consisted of two, eight man teams. The guys had beautiful weather and course conditions were fantastic for this event, thanks to Jim Dickson, Golf Course Superintendent, and his crew. The team winners are:

The name of the Tournament was changed to memorialize our good friend and Association Member, Bill Elinburg. Bill would have been very happy with the results of the tournament. He and Chipman were very good friends and golf partners.
The Sugar Hill Golf Association played their Club Championship tournament of Saturday, September 18th and Sunday, September 19th. They had perfect weather for the day and 14 players participated. The results are as follows:

Net Championship Results
The Sugar Hill Golf Association held their Net Championship tournament on Saturday, May 15th. The King of the Hill also kicked off. We had a beautiful day for the tournament. There were 24 players competing for the win. The results are as follows:

The guys had hamburgers cooked on the grill with macaroni & cheese after their round.
Next months tournament is a fun one. It is the “3 Man Step Aside” and will be held on Saturday, June 19th.

The weather was perfect and the guys had a great time. The King of the Hill tournament was played this past Saturday, Nov. 7th and Sunday, Nov. 8th. They were blessed with another beautiful day and our KING OF THE HILL for 2020 is Dave (CHIPMAN) Easterling! The 2nd place winner is Mark Morgan and 3rd place goes to Ronnie (Little Man) Whited!!!!

This coming Saturday, November 21st there will be a 2 Man Modified Alternate Shot that will begin with a shotgun start at 9:00. This is a 2 Man event, but if you can’t find a partner, we will pair you up with someone. This is an Association tournament so come sign up to be in the Association for 2021. It’s a lot of fun with a lot of great guys.
Our last tournament of 2020 will be our Santa Charity Tournament. It is being played on Saturday, December 12th and your tournament fee is $10 or a new unwrapped gift for a child. These gifts will be donated to the Gwinnett Co- Op to help make some of the local, less fortunate kids Christmas a little brighter! Come join the fun. Call or come by to sign up for either of these two events.
The SHGA played their Step Aside tournament on Saturday, June 20th. There were 21 players in this event.
The guys had beautiful weather and lunch was provided following the tournament.

The players all played within 5 points of each other. The low score was 67 and the highest was only 71!

3 Club Monty Results
The Sugar Hill Golf Association kicked off the new year with a very fun tournament……….the “3 Club Monty”. This was their “Sign Up for 2019” tournament. After the tournament, the players enjoyed some food, beverages, comradery and a new board was elected. These are your board members for 2019:

The weather cooperated and the players included our new Greens Superintendent, Jim Dickson, as well as our Club Manager, Scott Murphy. Hopefully everyone had a chance to meet Jim. He is a great addition to the Golf Course and we all look forward to seeing the improvements he makes to the course.

September 15th & 16th
The Sugar Hill Golf Association held their Sugar Hill Fall Classic tournament this past weekend. The players were served hamburgers & hot dogs on Saturday and taco bar on Sunday.The weather was really hot on Saturday, but misting rain on Sunday.
The guys weathered the heat and rain to complete their golfing weekend.
Each of the players received a $25 gift card at the close of the tournament. The results are as follows:

The weather was a little rainy, but improved as the day went. It wasn’t bad enough to discourage anyone from playing. The guys enjoyed BBQ plates at the close of the day. The results are as follows:

Santa Charity Tournament
Saturday, December 10th
The Sugar Hill Golf Association held their Santa Charity Tournament this past Saturday. The weather turned out to be very nice considering the forecast. There were 36 players that participated to help raise money & toys for our local charity, the North Gwinnett Co-Op. The guys enjoyed hot soup and sandwiches at the close of the round, prepared by Jackie Zcazek in our Snack Bar. Below is a summary of the event.

The Sugar Hill Golf Association played their Member-Member Tournament on Saturday, April 16th. There were 40 players who participated. It was a beautiful day for golf. The guys not only enjoyed the beautiful weather, they also had a delicious baked potato bar and refreshments at the close of the tournament.

Included in the $100, is your handicap service from the GSGA, discounted golf rates all year long and the chance to play in the Association tournament every month. The tournaments are usually the 3rd Saturday of each month. Come join in on the fun and make a lot of new friends. We have players of all different skill levels.

The Sugar Hill Golf Association played their “2 Man 6/6/6” Tournament today. There were forty players participating in the event. They enjoyed both, beautiful weather and a nice BBQ plate after the round. The winners of the tournament are as follows:

The Sugar Hill Golf Association held their Santa Charity Tournament today. It was a beautiful day! We had over 40 players in the tournament. A lot of toys and money were raised to donate to the local charity in hopes of making Christmas a lot brighter for the children in need. The winners are as follows:

The Sugar Hill Golf Association played their Sugar Hill Cup tournament this past weekend. They had beautiful weather, great food and enjoyed each other’s company for a two day tournament.

The Sugar Hill Golf Association had their 2-Man Dogfight today. The weather was absolutely perfect and the 35 players had a very fun filled day. The results are as follows:

ABC Scramble

The Sugar Hill Golf Association played their ABC Scramble today in some very cold temperatures. We had 30 guys tough enough to brave the cold. We served them lunch at the finish.
The results are as follows:
1st Place – Shaun Kelly, John Shugart & Joel Dubow
2nd Place – Jeff Crawford, Blake Caviness & Robbie Haverstick
3rd Place – Mike Butler, Shaun Davis & Wayne Leonard
Next month’s Golf Association tournament will be held on Saturday, March 21st. This will be the “2-Man Dogfight.” Call in or come by and sign up.
Santa Charity Tournament
Our Santa Charity Tournament was played today. What a great day it was. We had really nice weather and the best participation of the year. First place went to Robbie Haverstick and his partner, J. Mc Ardle. 2nd place was John Shugart and Johnny Frady, 3rd place was Mark Morgan and George Martindell. 1st Gross went to Jeff Crawford and Ronnie Whited. All the toys, money and food that were donated today will be donated to the North Gwinnett Co-op to help the local children of our area. Thanks guys!!!! See More
Texas Scramble Tournament

Our Texas Scramble Tournament was played on Saturday, Nov.15th. The winners were: 1st place – Mark Morgan and Mike Butler and 2nd place went to Frank Jones and Wayne Leonard. It was a great day and we’d like to thank all those that participated.
Our Santa Charity Tournament will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13th. Anyone with an established handicap is welcome to play. There will be a canned food drive and part of the tournament fee is a $10 toy or $10 cash, to be donated to the Gwinnett Co-op to help the local children in need have a brighter Christmas. Call or come in to sign up by noon on Dec. 12th. Hope you can play!!!!!

September 19-20, 2014
We had our Member/Guest Tournament this past weekend. The weather was awesome and the course is in great shape! The guys played a practice round on Friday and the tournament began on Saturday morning. The guys had BBQ plates for lunch and everyone had a great time. The format was different this year and was so much fun!!! Thanks to all that made this tournament happen.

The Sugar Hill Golf Association played their Net Championship Tournament on Saturday, August 16th. They enjoyed a BBQ plate lunch prepared by Sharon Burdette of our Snack Bar Staff. Thanks Sharon 🙂 The winners were as follows:

The “Big R” Tournament was played today. This tournament is held every year in memory of Richard Johnsa. He is Bill Johnsa’s father. Big R was one of the original Outlaws as they call themselves. The Outlaws originated at Windy Hill Golf Course. They have been playing here at Sugar Hill since it’s opening of June 1992.
The guys endured some really humid weather today to compete for the title of winner of the “Big R” tournament. The results are as follows:
